What happens when we die? Does anybody really know? The general consensus is that death remains one of the great unknown mysteries until we experience it personally.
Each religion provides us with varying interpretations of death and what is on the “other side.” Everybody either believes or has some notion of what waits for us once we pass on from this life.
For some people, it’s the classic image of clouds and sky with loved ones waiting to greet us. For others, it may be purgatory or, perhaps, a waiting room where you prepare to move onto the next stage of the afterlife. Maybe you believe in hell with demons and minions who will torture and punish those who have led sinful lives. If you don’t accept the religious teachings, you probably have your own idyllic afterlife whether it be a land where you’ll meet all your family and friends again or an afterlife which is just nothingness.
While we may not know for sure what happens after we die, there are many examples of people who believe they have come close to the afterlife. As this video shows, there are aspects of near-death experiences which can’t be answered by science alone. Yes, ahead you’ll find all the bright white lights, tunnels and dead relatives you’d expect to find, but some things are a bit more disturbing. As you’ll see, there are incidents of people learning things during their near-death experience which they couldn’t have possibly known about before hand.
