Buddhist Scholars Find 200 Year Old Mummy And Say That He May Be Still Alive.
A 200-year-old Mongolian mummified monk who has been discovered sitting in the lotus position is not actually dead set in a deep meditative states called “tukdam.”
This is according to Prof. Ganhugyin Purevbat, founder of the Mongolian Institute of Buddhist Art, regarding the ancient tradition of Buddhist lamas.
The preserved remains are now under forensic examination.
