It Looks Like A Scary Black Hole, But There’s An Entire Village Living Underneath!
Things are not always as they seem. But if you look hard enough in a little town in South Australia, you might just find something spectacular.
It’s called Coober Pedy and at first glance you would never expect to find the brilliance which lies within it.
Originally established as an opal mining town, Coober Pedy is now home to nearly 2,000 people.
But judging by the spotless landscape, you’d never be able to guess…
The entire town exists completely below ground. Within it, are miles and miles of man-made tunnels all filled with furnishings you would find in the normal home.
There are hotel rooms available for rent, a library and even a local pub.
They offer all of the comforts of a normal modern day house including running water, stoves, and bathrooms. Currently, there are nearly 1500 homes that exist in Coober Pedy.
