Sushi and sashimi me can be associated with parasitic infections.
Patients who eat uncooked fish are at a very high risk for ingesting the parasitic worm Anisakis.
Although the worm can’t survive in humans, it’s larva can. This parasite often causes diarrhea, vomiting and small bowel obstructions.
Again, be very aware of what you are eating, check your food when possible, and share this with your friends so they can be informed as well.
