Selfies have completely taken over the way we take pictures, but a recent viral video shows that selfies with squirrels are not recommended. The victim of a squirrel attack was captured on camera and explained exactly what happened and how he got ambushed by the furry critter. “I approached it making a clicking noise with my tongue, phone drawn,” he said. “When I got close enough, the squirrel actually tried to grab my phone. I shook it off, then snapped this photo.”

But then the squirrel got its revenge. Immediately after snapping the photo, the squirrel jumped into action and hopped down the unsuspecting photographer’s shirt and on to his back. After several panic fueled seconds, the selfie savant had to stop, drop and roll to get the critter from clawing up his back.

But how are we seeing photos of the squirrel attack if the person taking the selfie is being ambushed? His mother was there to document the entire thing. This goes to show that if your mom has the power to help you or laugh at you, she’s probably going to do a little of both.
