Selfies Go Way Back! The First Selfie Ever Taken. Buzz Aldrin made the history books by being the second man to ever set foot on the moon in 1969. In 1966 Buzz Aldrin snapped this picture during his space walk on the Gemini 12 mission. He posted the image on his WhoSay page on April 24th writing, “@NASA I believe I get to claim the first EVA ( extra-vehicular activity ) from space.”
