Ticks Found To Carry Virus WORSE Than Lyme Disease – Here’s What You Need To Know!
A fatal virus that scientists are saying is worse than Lyme disease is spreading across the Northeast United States and Great Lakes area.
The Powassan Virus, which is carried and transferred to people and pets by ticks, can infect the central nervous system.
It causes similar symptoms as Lyme disease, but is much more severe and has no cure!
Once you are bitten by an infected tick, it is only a matter of hours before the symptoms begin to show their signs.
The victims are likely to become susceptible to neurological damage due to inflammation of the brain, which can lead to both encephalitis and meningitis.
Currently, only 10% of cases have led to death.
Even though contracting the disease is rare, doctors are urging people to do everything they can to prevent being infected because the virus is fatal.
Doctors say to follow this guideline to help protect yourself and your family:
- Avoid wooded and bushy areas with high grass
- Complete a full body check on yourself, children, and pets when spending time outdoors
- Carry and use bug spray
