Riverside Police Are Searching For Man Who Sexually Assaulted A 6 Year Old Girl While Parents Slept.

Riverside police are searching for a male suspect to sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl in her home. Authorities responded to a home in the 5400 block of Picker Street, not too far from an elementary school, around 6:30 AM regarding reports that the child was sexually assaulted.

The mother said her daughter woke up, telling her a man who had been outside her window came into the home and touched her. “This gentleman came up to her window and took a peek and was like, ‘Hey, wake up. I have a surprise for your mom.’ My birthday is this month so my daughter, believing there was a surprise for me, when ahead and open the door for him,” she said.

Once inside, the man told the girl to change her clothes and he began touching her over the clothing. When she panicked, the suspect quickly fled. The young girl was able to provide enough information for authorities to create a composite sketch. The suspect is said to be in his mid to late 50s with a droopy left eye. He is about 5’7″ tall with a thin build. The man also spoke with an accent.

Her parents plan to get surveillance cameras installed and also inform neighbors to be aware of predator is on the loose. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Aurelio Melendrez with the Riverside Police Department at 951-353-7119.
