Tattoo Ink Recall! A Bacterial Contamination That Could Be Life Threatening

Tattoo Ink Recall! A Bacterial Contamination That Could Be Life Threatening.

Recently the FDA made a nationwide recall on White and Blue Lion tattoo ink.

They say it is due to a pathogenic bacterial contamination within the ink, one person has already suffered a skin infection from its use.

The bacteria can be very dangerous, if it is released into your bloodstream it can affect certain organs, which can be life-threatening.

Do you need any other reason NOT to get tattooed in a random person’s garage?

White and Blue Lion Inc. is a California-based company. They sell ink, needles and kits, usually for those wishing to tattoo at home.

Just another reason why you should go to a certified, licensed tattoo artist.

Albany tattoo artist Wesley Williams says one thing a person who is interested in getting inked has to ask is, who is doing their tattoo? If the work is cheap and you can bet the quality of their products will be too, which can lead to infections.

He says that at his shop, Tattoo Adikshun, they purchased their inks directly from a company called Eternal, not a third-party website. William says they call them personally, and is aware of their location and employees.

He feels once you have a quality manufacturers, you have a better chance of getting quality products and those companies usually back there inks up.

Anytime you are dealing with a new company or a company you are not familiar with, check on them. Ask the tattoo artist if you can take a look at the bottle of ink.

If you recently purchased White and Blue Lion products, return them immediately.
