This Creepy Hotel Was Abandoned For Decades Because Of This Dark Secret.

If you ever find yourself in the Columbian jungles, you might come across this eerie mansion near the Tequendama Falls.

At first glance it looks like photos out of a horror movie, but we assure you these pictures are real.

Now known as the Tequendama Falls Museum, it’s prior name was the Hotel del Salto, built in 1923 – with a local legend and paranormal activity so terrifying that it drove everyone away.

For almost 30 years, the richest of the rich gathered at this hotel to party with other members of high society. But what really drove these people away?

Supposedly, Native American men jumped from these cliffs to escape attack. Legend has it that they turned into Eagles upon jumping, so inebriated rich folks started trying to re-create the scene. Obviously, this led to many deaths. It is said that their ghosts still haunt the mansion and surrounding areas.

Finally, in 1990 the building got the makeover it deserved. Now, a museum dedicated to the biodiversity of Columbia, the former hotel showcases many public exhibitions every year.

Visitors today are urged to be mindful of their surroundings, and to avoid walking down dark passageways at night.
